About The Position

The Executive Director carries out the mission statement, statement of faith, policies, and procedures of Women’s Care Mary’s Center and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director assists in planning and implementing organizational goals related to administration, client services, community relations and outreach, and fundraising. The Executive Director is responsible for the daily operations of the pregnancy center, including supervising all staff, both medical and non-medical, as well as volunteers, and collaborating with the Medical Director.

Requirements

  • Belief in the sanctity of all human life from the moment of conception through natural death.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a management or administrative position.
  • Agreement with and commitment to the mission statement, Statement of Faith, and policies of Women’s Care Mary’s Center.
  • A demonstrated desire to reach abortion-minded women and support pregnant women and their families in need.
  • Experience in community building and outreach.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Internet and social media proficiency.

  • Experience working at a pregnancy center or nonprofit organization is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers to accomplish the mission of Women’s Care Mary’s Center.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, support, and direction to staff and volunteers.
  • Provide spiritual leadership to staff and volunteers.
  • Establish and maintain an organizational structure and management system that ensures efficiency, accountability, and appropriate delegation of responsibilities.
  • Implement legally compliant policies and procedures for the operation of the Center.
  • Ensure the Center provides high-quality, appropriate services in accordance with medical standards of care.
  • Recommend annual strategic goals to the Board of Directors and participate in both long-term and short-term planning.
  • Ensure client services appropriately address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Oversee human resources functions, including hiring, training, evaluating, and terminating employees in accordance with the Center’s policies.
  • Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, evaluation, and termination, as necessary. Ensure the ongoing development of volunteers through training and engagement opportunities.
  • Ensure that Women’s Care Mary’s Center, its mission, programs, products, and services are consistently presented to stakeholders in a positive and professional manner.
  • Promote client services to churches and organizations in the Glen Burnie area and throughout Anne Arundel County.
  • Oversee fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying funding needs, researching funding sources, establishing donor engagement strategies, developing an annual fundraising calendar, submitting proposals, maintaining fundraising records and documentation, and ensuring accountability measures are in place for fundraising events.
  • Coordinate with the accountant to ensure accurate and current financial records are maintained and that the budget is effectively managed.
  • Communicate with the landlord and coordinate facility maintenance, repairs, updates, and other property-related matters.
  • Coordinate and participate in quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
  • Ensure accurate client records are maintained and that monthly and annual statistical reports are completed and submitted.
  • Assist the Volunteer Coordinator in planning and implementing quarterly volunteer meetings.
  • Facilitate and delegate correspondence related to the annual appeal and other external requests.
  • Schedule and meet regularly with committee coordinators to ensure organizational goals are achieved. Maintain ongoing communication to monitor progress and provide guidance and support.
  • Implement marketing and advertising strategies as needed.
  • Ensure the Center maintains a professional appearance and welcoming environment.
  • Assist with Board of Directors recruitment and development efforts.
  • Manage physical resources, including the acquisition of supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
