Columbia Housing Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting racial and ethnic integration and diversity in Columbia, Maryland through housing advisory services, community outreach and advocacy, and educational programming. The Board of Directors is seeking a new Executive Director to provide leadership, vision, and direction to support the growth and development of the organization. The Executive Director will lead the organization’s programs, services, and outreach, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This role also involves representing Columbia Housing Center to the public, leading organizational development and strategic planning, and building partner relationships, managing a budget of $500,000.00. Key initiatives will include community development, residential real estate growth, stakeholder partnerships (commercial, government, civic), government relations, and board development, all aimed at achieving meaningful, measurable, and systematic improvement to attract and retain residents in Columbia. The Executive Director is appointed by and serves as a non-voting member of the Board of Directors, ensuring integrity and transparency in operations. The primary focus for the first 12-24 months will be on fundraising diversification, strategic partnerships, visibility, and advocacy, alongside strong operational oversight of a small staff and core programs. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurially-minded leader who can thrive in a start-up environment and grow the mission and outreach of Columbia Housing Center.
