About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice is a multi-faceted agency that serves juveniles of the Commonwealth. Responsibilities

  • Oversees the administrative aspects of the Office of Support Services (OSS) within the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and performs other duties as required.
  • Directs and oversees the administrative activities of DJJ to include fiscal, information systems, construction and maintenance, contracts, education, open records requests (ORR), juvenile detention alternatives initiative, all DJJ professional development, Juvenile Kentucky Offender Management System (JKOMS), offender information and classification.
  • Directs and supervises the Division Directors within the OSS.
  • Approves time and attendance and completes employee evaluations.
  • Provide guidance on all received staff and juvenile open records requests.
  • Assists the Commissioner in formulating goals, policies and procedures and the budget for the department.
  • Responsible for continuous monitoring and analysis of the department's budgetary objectives.
  • Coordinate testing, development and promotion of software changes to JKOMS.
  • Represents DJJ at meetings, public events, legislative hearings and task forces and performs special assignments as requested by the Commissioner.
  • Perform ongoing training and assistance regarding areas within OSS.
  • Provides technical assistance and interpretation of rules, policies and procedures, statutes, regulations and other guidelines such as the American Correctional Association Standards.
  • Performs other duties as required.
