About The Position

Seeds of Hope Silicon Valley (SoHSV) is a non-profit organization focused on addressing homelessness in Santa Clara County. The Board of Directors of SoHSV seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as the Executive Director in our mission to build a community of permanent homes for up to 1,000 chronically homeless neighbors. We are leading the effort to bring the innovative model called Community First Village from Austin, Texas to the Bay Area. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in non-profit management, business administration, social services or related field
  • 5 years management or supervisory experience.
  • 5 years or more of non-profit management experience in an operational role.
  • Demonstrated community and agency leadership.
  • Knowledgeable in the field of housing and homeless services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, including major gifts, foundation, and grants.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management, including annual budgeting and cash flow analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of homeless service provision models and programming, local, state, and federal housing authorities, social service agencies and general assistance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Championing our mission and new approach to addressing homelessness, both externally and within the organization.
  • Promoting a clear and actionable understanding of how to achieve our mission.
  • Advancing partnerships and collaboration to increase housing opportunities and services.
  • Participating in fundraising.
  • Using data to address inequity, guide decision making, allocate resources, and improve accountability.
  • Providing courageous leadership that values input from the people we serve (they are not homeless anymore) and honors the organization’s commitment to ending homelessness.
