How this role contributes to the Y’s mission: As a Y Executive Director, you will be responsible for the daily operations of one or more Y Family Centers. You will provide leadership in the areas of associate hiring, supervision and development, volunteer management, fiscal management, financial development, membership and program administration, facility & equipment stewardship, community relations and personal-professional development. You will develop, implement and monitor long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall Y objectives. You will be responsible for leading and growing Family Center operations of 3400+ household membership units and a combined budget of $2.8 million. As a Y Executive Director, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by creating experiences that help people feel a greater sense of health and well-being, purpose, acceptance and belonging.

Requirements

  • A love of wellness and people
  • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
  • Prior experience supervising a 3000+ unit Y or related health & wellness center that provide services for all ages
  • At least five years of prior experience successfully managing Health & Wellness, recreation, and youth programming field, preferably in a Y or similar organization
  • A proven track record in business operations including producing growth and strong financial management
  • A bachelor’s degree in in a Human Services, Business Management, Business Administration or equivalent
  • All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people. It emphasizes treating youth with respect and fairness, avoiding inappropriate physical or verbal interactions, and adhering to established standards of affection. The policy strictly prohibits any form of abuse, bullying, or harassment and mandates the reporting of suspected mistreatment. Additionally, associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.
