About The Position

The Northern Kentucky Area Development District (NKADD), with headquarters in Florence, Kentucky, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director. Located in Northern Kentucky, the NKADD is a collaboration of local leaders and staff educating and empowering communities by implementing quality services through specific areas of expertise in Aging, Community Development, Human Services, and Workforce Development. NKADD serves communities in Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen and Pendleton counties. The successful candidate will be expected to partner, advise, and lead the NKADD Board of Directors, staff and other regional leaders to enhance the NKADD strategic direction, focus, and offerings on important public policy issues affecting the region and its member governments. The position serves as the District’s representative at the regional, state and federal level, and is responsible for managing and supervising the professional staff of the District.

Requirements

  • Experience serving as the primary administrative staff to and implementing the policies and procedures of a Board of Directors.
  • Knowledge of public administration, social service delivery, workforce development, grant writing/grant administration, infrastructure and transportation planning, and community economic development.
  • Experience directing and supervising a staff of professional employees and administrative personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills through oral and written means, including social media.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the function of local, state and federal government.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among officials and partners to further the mission of NKADD.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management of a public organization.
  • Minimum qualifications of a bachelor's degree in public administration, planning or related field.
  • Five (5) years minimum related job experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in local/regional government or development administration.

Responsibilities
