About The Position

Responsible for advancing the foundation’s mission through strategic leadership, fundraising, financial stewardship, and operational oversight. This role partners closely with the Board of Directors to ensure long-term sustainability, community impact, and alignment with the foundation goals.

Requirements

  • A four-year college degree in Marketing, Business, or relevant field.
  • One to three years of marketing, community-focused outreach, or customer service in a credit union or similar environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains current knowledge of technology necessary to function in position; continuing education as needed.
  • Networks with other financial institutions to stay abreast of current trends.
  • Ensures compliance with laws and regulations affecting department.
  • Provide effective communication on overall strategic goals, community /event action plans, budgets and others, by preparing and presenting reports as needed to SCU senior management and SCU Board.
  • Lead all fundraising and volunteer activities, annual campaigns, planned giving, grants, and special events.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and liaison with various outside agencies to advocate for the foundation.
  • Develop and implement the foundation’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board.
  • Establish short and long-term goals that align with the organizational mission and vision.
  • Ensure organization-wide marketing strategies and campaigns drive volume, cultivate donor base, and advocacy efforts.
  • Obtain new revenue funds for the foundation through acquisition of gifts, donations, and grants.
  • Presenting to the Board or its authorized committees, upon request, periodic reports reflecting the activities of the Corporation and such other special reports as may be required by the Board.
  • Attending meetings of the Board and serving as an ex-officio member either in person or by designated appointee, on its committees and coordinating the preparation of Board meeting materials.
  • Seeing that all actions taken by the Board of Directors are executed.
  • Assists with research and discovering new opportunities to enhance and cultivate meaningful relationships within the communities the foundation serves to increase brand awareness.
  • Plan, develop and establish policies and objectives of organization in accordance with board directives, articles of incorporation, and bylaws.
  • Review submitted proposals, providing recommendations of grants and projects to Board for approval.
  • Ensure all organizational records are maintained according to financial and regulatory standards and are available upon request by authorized board members.
  • Oversee the process of grantees reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal and external strategic partners to build relationships that will support the long-range, strategic goals of the Foundation.
  • Represent the Foundation at community events, participate in community engagement committees, and coordinate SCU employee volunteers.
  • Build a culture of giving and social impact and the brand for the foundation that properly represents the values of the Foundation and SCU.
  • Plans and develops programs and events designed to enhance charitable giving.
  • Works collaboratively with SCU’s Director of Marketing and members of the Senior Management team as appropriate to ensure SCU is represented in a wide range of community relations activities including but not limited to fundraising.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure prompt and courteous service is provided to all internal and external members/customers.
  • Conduct work in a safe and healthful manner.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of credit union policies and procedures that are necessary for performing your job.
  • Perform as part of a team and assist other employees and other departments as needed.
  • Place documents that need to be shredded in the proper area for shredding.
  • Maintain knowledge of and follow the established process for key control, security, and the security of all codes and procedures related to office security.
  • Open and close office by disarming and arming alarms, as established procedures require.
  • Maintain total working knowledge of department.
  • Complete necessary logs.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of credit union policies/procedures that are necessary for performing job duties, including but not limited to Negotiable Instrument Reference & Guidelines, NACHA, BSA, and OFAC.
