About The Position

The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Assisted Living - Senior Living community, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and organizational policies. This role operates under the direction of the Area Vice President to deliver high-quality resident care, exceptional customer service, and an engaging community environment. The ideal candidate is an experienced Senior Living leader with a strong commitment to resident satisfaction, team development, and community engagement. Prior Senior Living leadership experience is required, with experience in Georgia preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related fields.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in Senior Living/Assisted Living.
  • Working knowledge of assisted living and long-term care operational standards set forth in the Federal Register, Requirements of Participation.
  • Current and unrestricted Administrator licensure in state of practice: Assisted Living Community Administrator ALCA.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of state and federal laws governing the operation of personal care homes.
  • Possess knowledge of licensing and payment programs, general business practices, ADL care practice, psychology of resident care, social services, and environmental health and safety relevant to personal care home operations.
  • Provide practical training in daily facility operations, departmental organization and management, community resources and interrelationships.
  • Represent the interests of the facility to the community, advocacy groups, government agencies, and the public.
  • Apply knowledge of state personnel licensing and registration requirements.
  • Utilize knowledge of human resources principles, labor laws, and union contracts (where applicable) to manage personnel functions and supervise employees in personnel matters.
  • Apply facility personnel policies to facts regarding employment actions without regard to race, religion, age, national origin, sex, or disability.
  • Apply standards of professional practice to operations of personal care homes and establish criteria to assure that care provided meets established standards of quality.
  • Foster interdisciplinary cooperation and coordination of quality assurance and quality improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate competency in financial management, budgeting, and allocation of resources.
  • Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures that reflect the center’s philosophy and mission in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Provide facility leadership.
  • Formulate operations strategies and achieve facility objectives within planned budgets and time frames.
  • Utilize sufficient interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, family members, surrogates, and legal representatives to respond to concerns, promptly resolve grievances, and solve problems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each patient/resident in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate competency in the protection and promotion of resident rights.
  • Act as a role model for facility and staff.
  • Understand and follow written and/or verbal directions.
  • Express self adequately in oral and/or written communication.
  • Communicate effectively with staff members, other professional staff, consultants, residents in an interdisciplinary care setting, and government agencies.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with the center’s mission and philosophy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents and center’s information.
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and center property.
  • Possess knowledge of emergency and disaster procedures of assisted living facilities.
  • Locate the nearest exit, understand and respond to written or oral instructions in case of emergency.
  • Possess sufficient mobility and strength to move freely through the building, assure resident safety at all times, and assist, transfer, or otherwise move residents out of danger in case of emergency.
  • Demonstrate respect for co-workers and respond to needs of residents by complying with center’s policies on attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
  • Arrive and begin work on time.
  • Respond to centers needs 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.
  • Possess working knowledge and ability to comply with center policies and procedures for workplace safety, including infection control procedures, application of universal precautions for bloodborne pathogens, use of personal protective equipment, and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete projects within allotted time.
  • Respond to change productively and undertake additional projects as assigned.
  • Carry out essential functions of this job (with or without reasonable accommodation) without posing specific, current risk of substantial harm to the health and safety of self and others.
