Requirements

Extensive related senior management experience in a large organization with a depth of experience in natural resource management or public administration.
Demonstrated success in formulating new policies, regulations and programs, legislative review, and managing complex issues.

Ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups to achieve innovative outcomes.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership to the Water Availability and Partnerships branch including how Alberta’s water is managed, shared, conserved and stewarded.
Leads the development of policies for surface water and groundwater availability, allocation and efficient use as well as wetlands.
Ensures effective environmental education and outreach occurs through the Bow Habitat Station, the department Contact Centre as well as school and community programs.
Ensures the coordination of provincial partnerships, water well driller licensing and the Working Well program.
Works with a variety of internal teams, cross-governmental partners, other governments, ministries, and key industry stakeholders and associations to ensure policies and programs to support water availability and partnerships.
