About The Position

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c). Our success is driven by our people. We are seeking an Executive Director, U.S. HCP Marketing for Rezdiffra, to shape and actualize the HCP marketing strategy for Rezdiffra and the broader MASH therapeutic category. This role is a high-visibility role for a leader who can operate can shape brand and content strategy while being comfortable with a roll your sleeves up approach in tactical development and execution. This individual will need to embrace a business-owner mentality needed to be successful at a rapidly growing company fueled by the growth of a blockbuster brand. This individual will lead all HCP-facing marketing efforts, including personal and non-personal promotion, peer to peer education through speakers bureau and advisory boards, congress presence execution, and content creation and evolution for field teams. We are seeking a highly collaborative leader who will partner closely with Sales, Commercial Strategy and Operations, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal to ensure compliant, insight-driven, and commercially effective execution. This role is ideal for a marketing leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment in an organization that is continuously evolving to leverage governance to formalize decision-making and ways of working. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator/presenter and is comfortable transitioning from being a strategist to a "doer," who ultimately relishes an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a successful and highly visible launch brand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 18+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech marketing experience, with 10+ years in HCP-facing brand marketing roles of increasing responsibility with a majority of experience on a specialty brand.
  • Experience in liver and/or a cardiometabolic therapy preferred.
  • Proven experience marketing a blockbuster or high-growth/high-potential specialty product.
  • Demonstrated success building and actualizing HCP marketing strategy within constraints and processes mandated by a Subpart H (conditional approval)
  • Demonstrated experience as a people leader managing and leading Marketing professionals.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Sales, Thought Leader Liaisons, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Legal/Regulatory.
  • Ability to distill complex information into essential knowledge and persuasively present it to all levels of management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead, identify and resolve conflict, and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of viewpoints and disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Own the HCP marketing strategy and contribute to the development of the annual global brand plan for Rezdiffra, aligning tactics to lifecycle stage, competitive dynamics, and portfolio priorities.
  • Translate market research, prescriber analytics, and customer feedback into a clear, differentiated brand positioning and messaging framework for HCP audiences.
  • Anticipate and plan for competitive threats (new entrants, label expansions) and adjust HCP strategy accordingly.
  • Lead development of core and derivative promotional tools and continue to evolve promotional claims beyond label by leveraging FDA’s CFL guidance.
  • Oversee non-personal promotion (NPP) strategy across peer-to-peer channels, paid media, and programmatic/digital channels targeting HCPs.
  • Ensure all materials are scientifically accurate, on-label, and approved through Promotional Review Committee (PRC) composed of Medical, Legal, and Regulatory.
  • Develop and manage KOL engagement strategy in partnership with Thought Leader Liaison team, Medical Affairs, and Sales including oversight of advisory boards and promotional speaker bureau.
  • Own planning and execution for major medical congresses and conferences (booth strategy, product theaters, print and digital sponsorships).
  • Serve as the primary marketing partner to Sales Leadership; ensure each field team is equipped with compelling, compliant tools and messaging.
  • Partner closely with Commercial training and development for implementation of new tools and messaging during and outside of planned national and regional sales meetings
  • Lead the transformation from traditional campaign-based marketing to AI-driven, dynamic engagement models by championing the use of customer-centric analytics to deliver personalized customer approaches across channels.
  • Partner with Commercial Strategy and Analytics and appropriate external vendors to build and monitor performance dashboards (Rx trends, NPS, share of voice, digital engagement).
  • Monitor marketing mix effectiveness and use insights to optimize strategies and tactics.
  • Collaborate with Patient Marketing counterparts to ensure a unified HCP-to-patient journey.
  • Cultivate strong working partnerships with Sales, Thought Leader Liaison, Commercial Strategy and Analytics, Market Access and Patient Services to ensure a cohesive brand story
  • Work closely with Regulatory and Legal/Compliance to navigate promotional review and ensure adherence to PhRMA Code, FDA regulations (OPDP), and company SOPs.
  • Hire, coach, and develop high-performing HCP marketing team
  • Own HCP marketing budget tracking, forecasting, and reconciliation
  • Manage relationships with external agencies (creative, media, medical communications) to ensure high-quality, on-time, on-budget deliverables.
  • Prepare regular reports for commercial and executive leadership team on progress, challenges, and recommendations.
