About The Position

Manages RGA Americas Institutional Markets distribution and sales efforts for Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) opportunities from initial triage and prioritization to bidding and implementation process. This role involves leading large and/or complex PRT transaction processes, acting as the operational focal point for successful execution, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders. The position aims to position RGA as the insurer partner of choice in the PRT marketplace by applying best practices in pension plan de-risking. It also includes developing strategic marketing plans, gathering market intelligence, analyzing market trends, and supporting product strategy. The role requires fostering relationships with consultants, brokers, fiduciaries, and plan sponsors to understand client needs and create customized solutions. Additionally, it involves partnering with RGA corporate functions to build operational processes and innovative transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Business, Actuarial Science, Administration., Marketing or related degree, or equivalent equivalent work experience
  • 10+ Years pension consulting, life or health insurance/reinsurance experience
  • 2+ Years hands-on transactional experience in PRT market (e.g. direct carrier, broker, advisor, law firm) and understanding of trends and developments in corporate pension plan de-risking is preferred
  • Experience and involvement in PRT transactions (as consultant or insurer) including managing RFP process, preparing materials needed to respond to the RFP, negotiating business aspects of legal agreements (such as commitment agreement, group annuity contracts and group annuity certificates), experience with processes and transaction flow related to pricing, investments and pension administration is preferred
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received to internal and external audiences
  • Expert ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance; manage self and supporting teams in a dynamic and high-pressure environment while managing multiple concurrent deadlines; very strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead large and/or complex PRT transaction processes from initial triage and prioritization, through bidding, to policy implementation
  • Act as the operational focal point in getting transactions, requiring significant cross-functional resources, successfully executed
  • Works closely with Global Strategy and Transaction Services unit to execute strategic and governance plans
  • Works with the U.S. PRT Business Development team, to foster regular contact and relationships with consultants, brokers, fiduciaries and plan sponsors regarding transaction opportunities, contract negotiation, and transaction management
  • Positions RGA as the insurer partner of choice in the PRT marketplace by bringing knowledge and application of best practices in areas of pension plan de-risking
  • Manages RGA Americas Institutional Markets distribution and sales efforts for Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) opportunities from initial triage and prioritization to bidding and implementation process
  • Oversees PRT transaction negotiations
  • Ensure effective and efficient quoting process
  • Works with U.S. PRT Business Development team to create strategic marketing plans and gather market intelligence
  • Analyze PRT market trends in assessing opportunities, support product strategy and enhancement, and build best practices for the business
  • Foster regular contact and relationships with consultants, brokers, fiduciaries and plan sponsors regarding transaction opportunities, contract negotiation, and transaction management
  • Determine client needs and objectives, understand and analyze client information, to create customized solutions to meet those needs and objectives
  • Demonstrates and utilizes market knowledge and value added where possible and appropriate
  • Partner with RGA corporate functions such as Pricing, Global Strategy and Transaction Services, Investments, and Legal to build operational processes as well as innovative transactions that meet RGA’s corporate objectives
