About The Position

The Executive Director of Support Operations is a cross-functional executive responsible for driving performance across equipment and building maintenance, procurement, logistics, quality assurance, and financial operations. This role involves building strong teams, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, managing complex workflows in a fast-paced environment, and utilizing financial insight for budgeting and cost control, including identifying, analyzing, and developing solutions for issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, supply chain, maintenance, or multi-department management.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, distribution, or similar regulated environments preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Expertise in maintenance operations, procurement, logistics, and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, fast-paced, and cross-functional environments.
  • Proficiency in Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Office, and Primero software.
  • Experience with office equipment (e.g., computer, copier).
  • Experience with power tools (e.g., radial saw, reciprocating saw, drill pneumatic hammer).
  • Experience with hand tools (e.g., hammer, shovel, screwdriver).
  • Experience with vehicles (e.g., automobile, truck, tractor, forklift).

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop managers and teams across maintenance, procurement, customer service, payroll, quality, logistics, and finance related functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Align departmental goals with organizational strategy and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, labor, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and lead incident prevention initiatives.
  • Manage audits, reporting, and corrective action plans.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance programs to ensure reliability, uptime, and safety.
  • Direct teams of electricians, HVAC technicians, and mechanical staff to maintain facility infrastructure.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead procurement and sourcing activities to ensure cost-effective purchasing, supplier performance, and contract compliance.
  • Optimize inventory levels and material availability.
  • Manage customer service operations to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality support.
  • Monitor service levels, call center performance, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Manage accounts payable, invoice processing, and ensuring controls related to procurement and timely vendor payments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
