About The Position

The Executive Director develops and executes the vision of NaviGo Services and Learning Grove’s Workforce Development efforts and leads a team in driving high quality services for the community. This position is both a strategic and direct service/hands on leadership position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong vision setting and execution.
  • Ability to not only lead but to provide direct services when needed.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer for: Word Processing, databases, and spreadsheets.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with middle school, high school, and/or college-age students is preferred.
  • Experience working with various business partners is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and models the organization’s vision, mission, values, and DEIB commitments.
  • Serves as an active member of Learning Grove’s Executive Team and ensures key information is shared with direct reports.
  • Monitors industry trends and changes in the workforce landscape and adjusts strategies as needed.
  • Develops an evaluation plan to measure NaviGo’s impact through data collection, management, reporting, and marketing.
  • Develops and executes a vision that positions NaviGo as the partner of choice in youth workforce development.
  • Represents NaviGo in local, regional, and state business and education organizations and positions the program as a thought leader.
  • Supports the growth of NaviGo’s regional and partnership initiatives, including YouScience, NKY Works, and River Cities Network.
  • Contributes to high school and middle school curriculum development, communicates student opportunities for NaviGo Scholars, and promotes NaviGo’s individual and school-based coaching services.
  • Co-facilitates outreach to schools, students, families, and the community.
  • Integrates NaviGo internally through internships, co-ops, and related efforts that support the early childhood educator workforce pipeline.
  • Develops and monitors progress toward the annual budget and adjusts as needed.
  • Designs and executes a revenue plan that diversifies funding, actively pursues fee-for-service and other recurring revenue, and reduces dependence on one-time grant funding.
  • Collaborates with Advancement on grant writing, implementation, and reporting.
  • Fosters teamwork by leading others to collaborate effectively and work cooperatively.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with businesses, schools, postsecondary institutions, and community partners to advance organizational goals.
  • Prioritizes relationships with local businesses, especially those in key workforce sectors, to create career connections for students.
  • Ensures NaviGo is actively engaged in local youth workforce initiatives.
  • Seeks input from key stakeholders and partners to improve practice.
  • Keeps the CEO informed of emerging opportunities, challenges, and trends.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert by staying current on research and best practices, developing and delivering training and consultation in early education and workforce development to improve program quality, and maintaining regular, reciprocal relationships with Learning Grove practitioners.
  • Expands Learning Grove’s consulting services by developing and managing a portfolio of professional relationships and identifying potential clients through networking, referrals, and conference attendance.
  • Collaborates to secure new business by analyzing and pursuing opportunities, developing scopes of work and contracts, and coordinating Learning Grove resources to fulfill agreements.
  • Manages client relationships, ensures contract deliverables are met, anticipates challenges, and maintains client satisfaction.
  • Collaborates to achieve business goals by developing departmental protocols, helping set annual plans and revenue targets, tracking key metrics, identifying barriers, and contributing to problem-solving.
