About The Position

The Executive Director of Finance and Facilities will provide strategic and operational leadership for financial management, administrative services, and facilities across the Alumni Association (AA) and Resource Development (RD). This role is accountable for aligning financial strategy, facilities infrastructure, and financial resource planning with Institute and departmental priorities. The Executive Director will advise executive leadership on the financial implications of strategic decisions, bringing a forward-looking, data-informed perspective. This position serves as the senior advisor on financial, administrative, and facilities matters, leading long-range planning, ensuring effective stewardship of resources, and driving continuous improvement in financial management and facilities operations. The role directs a team of administrative and support staff and is accountable for organization design, talent management, and development of the finance and facilities team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of ten years of financial and administrative leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success leading financial strategy in complex organizations
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Highly self-directed with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience hiring, training, evaluating, professionally developing and performance managing team members
  • Experience providing strategic direction to other senior leaders as well as direct reports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels
  • High degree of discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential matters

Nice To Haves

  • Higher education or complex nonprofit environment experience preferred
  • Advanced degree
  • Advanced Excel expertise (including pivot tables and complex workbooks)
  • Experience with SAP and BrioQuery or Cognos
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint and presentation tools
  • Knowledge of fundraising operations
  • Experience working with volunteers
