About The Position

This position assists the Chief Operating Officer in the supervision of departments within the District Operations Division. It directly manages the functions and personnel of the Construction and Facilities Departments. This position also represents the Chief Operating Officer in meetings and functions associated with bond programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Extensive experience in conflict resolution
• Ability to interpret policy, procedures, building codes and laws as related to divisional responsibilities
• Working knowledge of the principles of construction and related systems
• Understanding of District demographics, school attendance zones, and related data and processes
• Ability to desegregate data as required in order to make recommendations in the operations of the District
• Ability to identify ways in which the school district can operate more efficiently
• Ability to engage in and help lead long range capital planning for the school district
• Five years’ experience in managing/supervising personnel

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring that District Operations is supportive of the instructional goals of the district.
• Establish and recommend priorities for facilities and construction projects.
• Ensure all departments and programs are cost effective and funds are managed prudently.
• Compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs.
• Examine school district facilities on a regular basis to assess the need for repairs and routine maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
