About The Position

Morgan Stanley is seeking an Executive Director to lead a portfolio of feature squads within its mobile fleet, focusing on near- and mid-term strategy and end-to-end execution for Wealth Management Platforms. This role involves owning quarterly planning, roadmap governance, and intake/prioritization, translating broader fleet strategy into measurable outcomes. The Executive Director will champion differentiated mobile experiences to drive performance across the wealth funnel, including acquisition, activation, transaction flows, engagement, cross-sell/up-sell, retention, and client/advisor collaboration. Operating in a matrixed Agile environment, this high-visibility leadership role reports to the Head of Mobile Product Management and is crucial for modernizing the firm’s digital ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a seasoned mobile product leader with strong strategic judgment, rigorous execution skills, and the ability to align senior stakeholders in a complex fintech environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in Product Management with significant leadership in mobile applications, preferably within fintech, brokerage, or wealth management.
  • Deep domain expertise across self-directed brokerage, advised, banking, and/or workplace client segments and their associated feature sets.
  • Proven track record leading and developing Product Owners in large-scale, matrixed Agile environments.
  • Strong experience with data-driven personalization, unification of complex digital experiences, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Passion for building outstanding mobile user experiences and a client-obsessed mindset.
  • Demonstrated fluency in mobile platform product operations, including app store release governance, instrumentation/analytics, experimentation, and performance/reliability best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and influence stakeholders at all levels (including senior-level executives).

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmaps for key mobile capabilities, driving growth and delivering measurable client and business impact.
  • Use client insights, analytics, experimentation, and value sizing to prioritize the roadmap and ensure delivery focuses on high-impact outcomes.
  • Lead the unification of Morgan Stanley and ETRADE mobile experiences by driving consistent information architecture, navigation patterns, design standards, and shared components.
  • Define and measure a personalization strategy for the mobile experience, including audience segmentation, decisioning principles, and KPI/OKR ownership.
  • Lead quarterly planning for the portfolio, translating strategy into clear outcomes, prioritized backlogs, sequencing, and delivery plans.
  • Own portfolio-level intake and prioritization, ensuring consistent evaluation of requests, early surfacing of dependencies, and transparent stakeholder expectation management.
  • Drive high-quality execution in partnership with Technology, UX, and QA, ensuring strong product rigor throughout the lifecycle.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Information Security to ensure mobile capabilities meet regulatory obligations, privacy requirements, and security-by-design expectations.
  • Champion controls-by-design, high-quality operational readiness, and accessibility standards.
  • Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of four Agile Product Owners.
  • Foster a culture of product excellence and ensure consistent ways of working across feature squads.
  • Serve as the primary bridge between mobile feature squads and broader enterprise fleets.
  • Partner closely with platform squads, Technology, UX, QA, and senior business stakeholders to align priorities, manage dependencies, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Communicate roadmap, progress, risks, and decisions clearly to senior leadership.
  • Establish and maintain robust product management processes, Agile best practices, and operational frameworks.
  • Identify and implement scalable improvements for operational inefficiencies within the Agile framework.
  • Support adoption of AI-assisted, spec-driven development (SDD) practices.
