About The Position

The University of Central Florida (UCF) Health Student Health Services is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure-earning assistant, associate or professor of medicine and Executive Director of Student Health Services. The Executive Director will be responsible for the formulation, development, and supervision of Student Health Services. This includes, but not limited to, the areas of administration, personnel, budget planning, and internal communication. Leads the development, implementation, and oversight of the Student Health Services Strategic Plan while managing a multi-million-dollar budget, including financial planning, expenditure approval, resource allocation, and future program and facility expansion, renovation, and maintenance initiatives. Chairs the Student Health Services (SHS) Executive Council and the SHS Performance Improvement Committee, providing leadership for program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, strategic planning, and resource management. Ensures that the university's goals and objectives are communicated and achieved. Represents UCF Student Health Services at the university, state, regional, and national levels with active participation and leadership in constituent organizations. Leads Student Health Services in all Emergency Response situations (Hurricanes, Fires, Active Shooter and others). Represents Student Health Services and provides medical input and expertise to other university units and departments. Establishes operational policies for Student Health Services and interprets University of Central Florida Board of Trustees policies as they relate to student health. Works closely with the College of Medicine Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs to coordinate Student Health Services in response to any UCF infectious disease outbreak or threat of outbreak. Provides leadership and oversight for workforce planning and staffing operations across Student Health Services, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, operational efficiency, and staff productivity. Promotes and advances Student Health Services through engagement and collaboration with key university partners, including Student Government Association (SGA), Housing and Residence Life, Greek Life, and Graduate Studies. Provides leadership and policy direction, ensuring a formal business plan is developed, periodically updated, and followed. Ensures regulatory compliance with strict adherence to federal and state laws, including HIPAA, FERPA, and public health reporting mandates. Develops and directs studies for program analysis and evaluation to ensure proper management of available resources. Ensures professional standards meet requirements of licensing agencies and guidelines established by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), including maintaining accreditation. Ensures clinical activities comply with Student Health Services policies, state and federal statutes, and Board of Regents guidelines. Advises and assists in planning, directing, and reporting clinical service activities. Provides direct clinical services to patients and consultative support to medical staff as needed. May supervise medical students, interns, and residents during their rotations. Fosters the development of comprehensive clinical care, education, and prevention programs, and assumes responsibility for the development of medical services and programs. Engages in frequent internal and external collaborations through committees, task forces, partnerships, and public relations efforts; participates in campus-wide health promotion. Oversight of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). Completes all required university, division, and departmental training in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.
  • License to practice in the State of Florida.
  • Scholarly background and experience must be commensurate with the faculty rank for which the application is submitted.
  • Minimum of five years of professional related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in college health leadership, administration, or student health services.
  • Strong understanding of higher education dynamics, with success in fostering cross-functional partnerships with campus and academic stakeholders.
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Sports Medicine, Psychiatry, or other relevant specialties.
  • Experience providing direct patient care in outpatient, inpatient, emergency, or other clinical settings.
  • Prior clinical and administrative experience within a higher education student health center.
  • Experience leading or supporting public health initiatives and population health programs.
