About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for the overall vision, strategy, and direction of advanced academics, including college readiness testing. AP/IB/PAP/world languages programming, dual credit, and leading related district-wide strategic initiatives. This person serves as a strategic leader within the CCMR division. They are responsible for leading a team to design resources, professional learning, and programming to ensure strong achievement within CCMR.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience
  • Microsoft Office software proficiency
  • Proficiency with office equipment (e.g., computer, copier)

Responsibilities

  • Design the vision and strategy of the AP, PreAP, IB, PTECH and Early College, College Readiness, College Readiness Curriculum, Miles Ahead Scholars, and Access programs. Ensure these programs are aligned with district goals and are meeting the needs of students and educators.
  • Ensure that all advanced academics teachers and administrators have access to high-quality curricular materials, including supporting curriculum adoption, creation and vetting.
  • Supervises and sets the vision for the advanced academics department; collaborates with senior leaders within the CCMR division to ensure alignment and cohesion; manages district initiatives pertaining to advanced academics, such as associate degree programs.
  • In partnership with DC, create strategy for school support, including design of professional learning resources, targeted school support and continuous progress monitoring of CCMR data pertaining to advanced academics.
  • Collaborate with district administrators, principals, and teachers to ensure clarity, aligned strategy, and impact of all advanced academics strategic initiatives.
  • Build strong partnerships with external organizations, educational institutions, and experts in the field to ensure strength of advanced academics programming.
  • Engage with parents, community members, and other stakeholders to foster support and involvement in advanced academics initiatives.
  • Create, implement, and continually review effectiveness of strategy around college readiness testing, programming, and student support.
