Job SummaryWe are hiring an EXECUTIVE CHEF to join our F&B leadership team on the beautiful campus of BAYLOR UNIVERSITY. In this key culinary role, you will oversee The East Village Commons, which is an all-you-care-to-enjoy facility featuring global cuisines. Known for its dynamic, fresh-food concept, the two-story hall lets diners watch meals prepared in real-time. It also houses a central rotisserie, a full-service bakery, and a convenience store. This dining hall operates Monday through Friday for breakfast (7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.), lunch (10:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.), and dinner (4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) with limited dinner hours from 5-9 on Sunday. Mongolian Grill: A highly popular station serving custom stir-fry dishes. House-Made Pasta: Freshly made daily for rotating Italian and global menus. Soft-Serve Ice Cream: A signature dessert station. Diverse Flavors: The menu rotates frequently, focusing on a "culinary passport" of international dishes

Requirements

  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • ServSafe certified – highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
  • Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, and operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation based on Company and regulatory standards
  • Establishes and maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas
  • Maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies to stay within established guidelines while assuring that necessary product is available when needed
  • Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
