About The Position

Sodexo's Airline Lounge Segment has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Executive Chef to join the elite team of professionals who will operate in our Premium Lounges segment at LAX International Airport in Los Angeles, CA. We are seeking a talented individual who will commit to the challenges of creating and delivering a culinary-driven, upscale experience within a thoughtfully designed travel oasis. The ideal Executive Chef candidate will have an eclectic menu knowledge and upscale experience, with a strong background in high volume catering and events execution. This is a hands-on Chef role requiring previous experience managing upscale food production. High volume, scratch kitchen background from Hotels or Restaurants is preferred.

Requirements

  • A strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
  • 2-3 years of EC or KM leadership experience in a recognized concept or company
  • Strong computer skills including word, excel, and office
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards
  • Strong coaching and employee development skills
  • Have a passion for food and innovation
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • High volume, scratch kitchen background from Hotels or Restaurants is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
  • Have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
  • Have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
