About The Position

At Senior Star, exceptional dining starts in the kitchen. We're seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary operations and deliver the high-quality dining experiences our residents expect and deserve. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Director, the Executive Chef is responsible for all kitchen operations, food production, menu execution, inventory management, purchasing, sanitation, and culinary team leadership. The ideal candidate brings a strong culinary background combined with expertise in senior living dining, including therapeutic diets, texture modifications, and creating exceptional dining experiences for residents with diverse nutritional needs.

Requirements

  • Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or culinary leadership experience required.
  • Senior living, healthcare, rehabilitation, or long-term care culinary leadership experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets, texture-modified diets, allergy accommodations, and resident-centered dining.
  • Experience preparing and overseeing food production for Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support, and higher-acuity resident populations.
  • Proven ability to balance culinary excellence with nutritional and dietary requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of food production, menu execution, inventory management, food safety, and kitchen operations.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing culinary teams.
  • Passion for creating exceptional dining experiences that support resident satisfaction and quality of life.
  • An "I've Got It" mindset with a commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all back-of-house culinary operations for Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Support.
  • Ensure meals are prepared, presented, and served according to Senior Star's Top in Class standards.
  • Oversee food production, recipe execution, inventory, purchasing, and food cost management.
  • Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation across all dining venues.
  • Support catering events, special celebrations, and resident experiences throughout the community.
  • Coach, develop, and lead kitchen associates to achieve excellence in food preparation and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with the Food & Beverage Director to execute menus, seasonal offerings, and culinary initiatives.
