About The Position

The Office of the Budget seeks a dedicated individual to join their team as an Executive Budget Specialist 1. This role supports the development and implementation of the Governor’s executive budget, working closely with several state agencies. The position offers the chance to grow within the Office of the Budget by working with different subject areas and developing expertise. The role helps advance the mission of the Office of the Budget and contributes to statewide financial planning.

Requirements

• Successful completion of the Executive Budget Associate training period; or One year as a Budget Analyst 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• One or more years of experience using Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SAP, Analysis for Office, or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Review agency budget materials and provide input and recommendations that support financial decision making.
• Collaborate with assigned agencies in the Education and Economic Development Division to support agency budget operations throughout the year.
• Assist in preparing components of the Governor’s budget proposal.
• Help carry out the enacted budget in alignment with state priorities.
• Work with colleagues to maintain a balanced financial plan for the commonwealth.
