About The Position

The Executive Assistant provides strategic administrative support to the Executive Director to enhance organizational effectiveness and advance the mission of the National Association of Social Workers Minnesota and North Dakota Chapters. The position is responsible for facilitating efficient communication, coordination, and information management across a wide range of chapter activities and initiatives. Working with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and independent judgment, the Executive Assistant helps ensure that organizational priorities are effectively supported, stakeholders are well served, and operational systems function smoothly in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Timeliness and effective time-management skills to prioritize and organize a complex and diverse workload.
  • Understanding of business operations, and ability to plan and manage a variety of business-related services.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Skills in utilizing Canva, Survey Monkey, payment platforms, and other tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong commitment to the social work profession and NASW’s mission.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, social work degree preferred.
  • Macro social work practice coursework and experience preferred.
  • If a social worker, MN or ND social work license (complete or in process).
  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications, email systems, and Google suite.
  • Minimum of two years’ project management, administrative, and/or executive assistant experience.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, such as volunteers, interns, schools, and other non-profit organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Director by managing communications, coordinating priorities, and providing administrative support to advance organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Manage executive workflow by monitoring correspondence, coordinating schedules and meetings, tracking action items, and ensuring timely follow-up on key projects and commitments.
  • Conduct research, gather and synthesize information, and develop materials to support presentations, training, advocacy efforts, organizational planning, and decision-making.
  • Prepare and coordinate professional communications, reports, presentations, and other resources while maintaining high standards of customer service and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support organizational operations and special projects by improving administrative processes, coordinating logistics, managing selected financial and record-keeping tasks, and assisting with board, committee, and volunteer leadership activities.
