About The Position

The New Zealand Permanent Mission to the United Nations and World Trade Organisation in Geneva is offering a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the world of diplomacy and global affairs through the position of Executive Assistant. Join a dynamic, high performing team committed to achieving the highest standards of professional excellence in promoting New Zealand’s interests in political, trade, international security and global affairs, as well as delivering consular services in Switzerland. The Executive Assistant, collaborating with the other Executive Assistant, is responsible for providing support to the policy work of the Mission through administrative support to the Head of Mission (UN and Disarmament Ambassador) and WTO Ambassador, and helps to lead and deliver the Mission’s visits and events.

Requirements

  • Must be a New Zealand citizen.
  • Able to obtain and maintain an appropriate New Zealand Government Security clearance.
  • Previous successful experience in an Executive Assistant capacity to a senior manager and/or leadership team.
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work under pressure.
  • Excellent command of English, oral and written.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within guidelines, demonstrating the use of sound judgement and follow up without prompting.
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people.
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced and busy environment, adapt to ambiguity and changing situations, balance priorities and work to tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional competency in French.
