The Executive Assistant provides primary administrative and personal support to the Dean of the School of Government and works closely with other members of the School’s leadership team, including the associate deans. The position carries a mix of routine and complex responsibilities, ranging from standardized office support to administrative work requiring initiative and independent decision-making. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion. The Executive Assistant serves as a primary point of contact for the Dean’s Office and interacts regularly with program staff, managers across School units, representatives of other state agencies and universities, donors, clients, service recipients, elected and appointed officials at the highest levels of state government, the media, and the general public. A consistently responsive, service-oriented, and high-touch approach to customer service is an essential function of this position.
