About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Vice President for University Advancement (VPUA), the incumbent serves as the Executive Assistant to the VPUA, handling issues of complex, confidential, and sensitive nature. The incumbent provides executive administrative support, logistics support, operational support, and communications support to the Office of the VPUA and the Executive Director of Development, and works closely with other Vice Presidents, Associate Vice Presidents, the Office of the President, and the CSU Chancellor’s Office. In addition to high-level executive support, this position provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Vice President and the University Advancement division while ensuring exceptional service to donors, volunteers, board members, and campus partners. This role is responsible for managing executive scheduling and communications, coordinating meetings and events, maintaining accurate donor and constituent records in the CRM system, and supporting daily office operations. Through strong organization, professionalism, and attention to detail, the position helps facilitate effective communication, stewardship, and collaboration across the division and with external stakeholders. The incumbent must exercise independent judgment in resolving scheduling conflicts, coordinating complex activities, prioritizing competing demands, and ensuring executive readiness for meetings, briefings, and systemwide engagements. This position also plays a key role in advancing fundraising and donor engagement by coordinating agendas and logistics for development events, donor visits, and recognition programs. This position supports the implementation of successful University Foundation Board of Governors meetings and functions under the guidance of the University Foundation Board and Project Manager. In addition, the role supports division-wide initiatives related to employee engagement and satisfaction. By providing proactive administrative, event, and project support, this position contributes to the overall effectiveness, efficiency, and mission-driven success of University Advancement.

Requirements

  • Must possess the knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all the work assignments defined in this position.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
