The Town of Hopkinton is seeking a highly organized, resourceful, and professional Executive Assistant to the Chief of Police to provide confidential executive support to the Chief while helping oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the Police Department. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible administrative or executive support experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain strict confidentiality, and build positive working relationships with employees, residents, and public officials.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to receive certification through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to obtain C.O.R.I (Criminal Offender Record Information).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Office Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience working in municipal government.
  • Working knowledge of police department operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with budget administration, payroll processing, purchasing, grants, detail billing, leave documentation and tracking, FEMA and MEMA reimbursement requests, and public records administration.
  • Supervising part-time civilian staff and interns.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for employees and the public.
  • Working closely with Town departments and outside agencies to support the efficient operation of the Police Department.
  • Exercising sound judgment, maintaining strict confidentiality, and bringing exceptional organizational and communication skills to a fast-paced public safety environment.
