About The Position

Abuse Refuge Org (ARO) is seeking a dedicated and organized Executive Assistant to support the Co-Founder. This volunteer role offers an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while contributing to ARO's mission of helping victims of abuse. The position is remote, allowing for global interaction with like-minded individuals passionate about making a difference. ARO values the development of skills, cross-training, leadership opportunities, mentoring, and career growth within chosen vocations. This is an unpaid volunteer position. ARO is currently only hiring female identifying volunteers due to a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) policy, with plans to expand opportunities in the future. Requirements

  • Must be available to volunteer 15+ hours a week / 10+ months
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
  • Must maintain fundraising attitude throughout tenure with ARO.
  • Based in the USA and able to work set hours (neg).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Co-Founder for all administrative needs.
  • Provides high-level administrative support and assistance to the Executive Director and/or other assigned leadership staff.
  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks including drafting letters, memos, invoices, reports, and other documents for senior staff.
  • Schedules and attends meetings, taking notes and recording minutes.
  • Receives incoming communication or memos on behalf of senior staff, reviews contents, determines importance, and summarizes and/or distributes contents to appropriate staff.
  • Performs office tasks including maintaining records, ordering supplies, and performing basic bookkeeping.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by executives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
