The New York Times is seeking an experienced, highly organized and proactive executive assistant to support the newsroom masthead, including the masthead editor overseeing newsroom strategy, operations and finance as well as one additional masthead editor. This is a critical role at the center of the Newsroom's leadership and administrative operations. The executive assistant will manage complex scheduling and logistics, organize priorities and follow-through, coordinate across senior leaders and departments, draft correspondence, support projects with research and project management, and serve as a trusted representative of the masthead leader's office. The ideal candidate exercises sophisticated judgment, anticipates needs, communicates with discretion and professionalism, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative newsroom environment. They should be able to manage shifting priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and confidentiality. This position will report directly to the assistant managing editor for strategy, operations and finance.
