The Department of State, Office of the General Counsel is seeking an Executive Assistant I - SES. This position serves as the primary administrative assistant for the management of the Office of General Counsel, handling invoices, coordinating budget and finance matters, maintaining office calendars, and managing requests for Advisory Opinions. The role also involves managing court e-filing matters and accounts, maintaining litigation files, and providing administrative support to attorneys. This includes preparing correspondence, filing legal documents, making travel arrangements, coordinating meetings, tracking proposed legislation, and assisting with public records requests. The Executive Assistant will also handle elections-related inquiries, log and route legal matters, answer and route telephone calls and correspondence, and assist the public in directing inquiries. Additionally, the position performs duties as Agency Clerk, including receipt and logging of filings, docketing final orders, and accepting service of process. Accessing the Florida Voter Registration System (FVRS) for data entry and assisting with preliminary investigations of election fraud complaints is also part of the role. The Executive Assistant must represent the Office of the Secretary and Department of State professionally, exercising discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgment, and perform other work-related duties as required.
