About The Position

The City of Hampton Circuit Court is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Executive Assistant to provide advanced administrative support in a fast-paced professional environment. This position performs a broad range of complex clerical, technical, and administrative duties, requiring sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting court operations, coordinating administrative activities, and ensuring the efficient functioning of the office while delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders. This position is located within the Circuit Court Department and requires intermediate knowledge of court operations and procedures, as well as the ability to draft legal memoranda, pleadings, orders, and other court-related documents.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Associate's degree or higher in Office Administration, Business, Public Administration or a closely related field of study.
  • Three (3) years of experience in providing support, planning and scheduling at an executive level, preferably within a municipal government or other service related organization.
  • Ability to efficiently use a personal computer and other office equipment to complete tasks.
  • Good knowledge of office terminology, procedures, and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Good understanding of business arithmetic and English.
  • Ability to learn complex computer programs.
  • Ability to maintain records and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
  • Ability to pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
