About The Position

The Exclusion Technician is a critical hands-on role focused on the physical "proofing" and structural repair of residential and commercial buildings. Unlike a traditional pest technician, your goal is not to apply chemicals, but to build barriers. You will use construction and contracting skills to seal entry points, install deterrents, and ensure that wildlife and rodents cannot access our clients' properties.

Requirements

  • Handy & Tool-Savvy: Proven experience using power tools and performing general maintenance or construction tasks (carpentry, roofing, or siding experience is a major plus).
  • Comfort with Heights: Must be comfortable working on high ladders and rooftops in various weather conditions.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate (or willingness to be trained on) Aerial Work Platforms (Lifts).
  • Physical Fitness: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb frequently, and work in confined spaces (like attics or crawlspaces) when necessary.
  • Driver’s License: Valid G (or provincial equivalent) Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
  • No Pest License Required: As this is a structural/exclusion role

Nice To Haves

  • carpentry, roofing, or siding experience is a major plus

Responsibilities

  • Structural Proofing: Seal cracks, crevices, and entry points in building foundations, soffits, and rooflines using high-quality rodent-proofing products.
  • Specialized Installations: Measure, cut, and install industrial door sweeps, exclusion screening, and specialized hardware.
  • Avian Deterrents: Install bird netting, spiking, and tension wire systems on various structures to prevent nesting and perching.
  • Height & Access Operations: Safely work from ladders and operate scissor lifts or boom lifts (Aerial Work Platforms) to access rooftops and high-reach commercial areas.
  • Contracting Tasks: Use a variety of power and hand tools (drills, saws, caulking guns, etc.) to complete permanent structural repairs.
  • Site Assessment: Identify structural vulnerabilities that could lead to pest ingress and provide feedback to the service team.
