About The Position

This is a non-merit position. Recruitment for this position will be handled by the Family Court of St. Louis County. The Family Court of St. Louis County is hiring for a Part-Time (Up to 16 hours a week) Exchange Facilitator in our Domestic Relations Department. The Exchange Facilitator facilitates the neutral exchange of children; receives and welcomes parents and children at The Exchange Center. This position requires schedule flexibility and will require work on evenings and weekends. $20.50 per hour.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related social/behavioral science required.
  • At least one year of professional experience doing similar work with Family Court and/or parents/families; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • OR four years of responsible, paraprofessional social service experience working with juveniles and/or their families may be substituted in lieu of college.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, neutral supervised exchanges of children between court-ordered families.
  • Ability to promote emotional and physical safety and wellbeing of all program participants through monitoring and deescalating.
  • Communicate program policies and procedures to families.
  • Monitor, observe and document interactions and behaviors between parent and child(ren) during supervised visitations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds including those who have experienced emotional and traumatic situations.
