Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher
About The Position
Easterseals Florida is seeking an Exceptional Student Education Teacher to join their team at The School for Limitless Learning for the 2026-2027 school year. This private school focuses on an inclusive approach to education for children who are neurodiverse or have other related disabilities. The Lower Elementary Program (K–2) utilizes a relationship-based, play-focused model grounded in the DIRFloortime® approach, specializing in supporting children with neurodiverse or related developmental differences. The program features state-certified teachers trained in the DIRFloortime model, small class sizes for personalized instruction, a 10-month academic school year, and a focus on social-emotional development, communication, and academic growth through play-based learning.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher and formal training in Exceptional Student Education
- Eligibility for Florida Teaching Certificate required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members
- A genuine passion for working with children and families to promote student success
Nice To Haves
- Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education preferred
Responsibilities
- Cultivate a positive educational climate for students with disabilities, fostering an atmosphere of respect and rapport
- Design and implement instruction, accommodations, and support in line with state standards, district curriculum, and students' needs
- Observe and evaluate student performance, monitor assessment data, and maintain grades and attendance records
- Provide oversight to teacher assistant and maintain confidential records, inquiries, data, and full-time equivalency (FTE) documentation
- Communicate with parents and school/district personnel regarding student progress and encourage parental involvement
