Excavation Foreman Assistant
About The Position
This role involves assisting with daily excavation and sitework activities on residential and light commercial projects within approximately one hour of Bernville, PA. The assistant will perform rough grading, finish grading, trenching, and general excavation work alongside the crew. A key part of the role is operating excavation equipment and driving a tri-axle dump truck safely and efficiently. The assistant will also help execute daily project tasks and maintain workflow when the Foreman is off-site, support and guide less experienced crew members in safe and effective excavation practices, and prepare materials, tools, and equipment needed to keep projects running efficiently. Upholding GHL Construction's standards for safety, workmanship, and job site quality is essential.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of excavation experience in sitework, grading, or related construction work.
- Holds a CDL-A license or is willing to work toward obtaining one with company support.
- Strong desire to learn, grow, and develop into a future Foreman role.
- Communicates clearly with crew members and leadership to help projects run smoothly and efficiently.
- Prioritizes teamwork, craftsmanship, and contributing to a positive, faith-based work culture.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Able to handle the physical demands of excavation work.
