About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage all duties required in the design of truss and I-joist products. This role is within the Design Department and involves performing design requirements on EWP, running the computer to get designs and cost, and assisting the Design Department Manager on projects and with layouts and shop drawings as time permits. The role also has responsibilities in Sales & Marketing, including assisting Outside Sales Representatives in developing new accounts, providing customer service assistance, and visiting job sites as requested. Safety is also a key component, requiring compliance with the Company safety policy, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and reporting safety hazards promptly. As part of Harbin Lumber Company, Inc., the Truss Designer must be a team player and develop positive working relationships with all employees.

Requirements

Three years of experience as a designer in the industry.
A structural engineering background.
Knowledge of building codes and construction.
Knowledge of trusses, wall systems, beams, and all other products involved with construction.

Nice To Haves

A four year degree in management, business, or engineering.
