About The Position

This role is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment, conducting inspections, and following safety protocols to minimize risks associated with hazardous materials. The position involves collecting, segregating, and properly disposing of hazardous waste materials according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines. It also includes conducting inspections and assessments to identify, label, and package hazardous waste materials for safe transportation and storage. The role requires operating and maintaining equipment such as waste handling and containment systems, monitoring and documenting waste accumulation areas, and assisting in waste reduction and recycling initiatives. Routine inspections and maintenance of waste storage areas, spill response equipment, and safety showers/eyewash stations are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Hazardous Waste/Biohazard Experience 1-2 years required
Strong knowledge of hazardous waste regulations, including familiarity with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and other applicable guidelines.
Knowledge of spill response procedures, containment techniques, and waste disposal methodologies.
Ability to use and maintain personal protective equipment and other safety equipment effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage waste inventories and maintain accurate documentation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, carrying, and moving heavy containers or equipment.

Responsibilities
