About The Position

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. On the weekends there will be responsibilities to maintain the Supervisor Phone to receive communications from House Supervisors & arrange Environmental Services assignments amongst the team. This is a Lead Role where the technician maintains the Supervisor Phone on the weekends to manage cleaning request assignments.

Requirements

One or more year of experience in custodial, housekeeping or janitorial work within a healthcare facility (preferred)
Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience. (Preferred)
Cleaning skills
Ability to use chemicals properly
Ability to read labels

Ability to work safely

Responsibilities

Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition.
Meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.
Maintain the Supervisor Phone on the weekends to receive communications from House Supervisors & arrange Environmental Services assignments amongst the team.
Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint commission, and OSHA standards.
Follow all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)).
Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.
