About The Position

The Environmental Services Department is crucial for maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The EVS Tech I is responsible for performing daily duties to ensure a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, offices, waiting areas, and meeting rooms. The EVS Tech will interact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff, with interactions being appropriate to the demographics of the patients served. A key responsibility is ensuring timely room turnovers to support patient throughput, adhering to basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Environmental Services Technician is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and patient experience, in line with organizational quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent
  • Relevant Work Experience

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize all areas of the hospital including patient rooms, offices, waiting areas, and meeting rooms
  • Execute daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment
  • Have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring interactions are appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served
  • Ensure timely room turns related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention
  • Contribute to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and patient experience in accordance with organizational standards of quality
