About The Position

This is an Environmental Services EA3 Process Coordinator position that serves as an informal leadership role within the Environmental Services department. The Process Coordinator assists the EVS management team by ensuring cleaning processes are performed correctly throughout the facility. This role acts as an extension of the Supervisor and involves learning all supervisory tasks while providing hands-on support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of previous lead/manager experience is required
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language; communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff
  • Must demonstrate professional communication abilities in all interactions
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills are essential
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Ability to navigate computers and email, as well as troubleshoot phones and scanners

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of previous hospital/healthcare cleaning experience is preferred
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting regular quality inspections to ensure EVS processes are being followed correctly
  • Completing glow germ audits to verify that high touch points are being cleaned according to protocol
  • Conducting weekly or biweekly rounds with Nurse Managers to discuss where the EVS team performed well and areas for improvement
  • Engaging directly with patients to ensure satisfaction with cleanliness standards
  • Handling patient complaints by discussing issues with patients, ensuring corrections will be made, and having discussions with team members responsible for the patient rooms
  • Completing competencies on staff members and validating that processes are being followed
  • Completing start and end of shift team engagement, including distributing phones, assigning positions at the beginning of shifts, and collecting phones and signing team members out at the end of shifts
  • Providing supplies to EVS staff throughout the shift as needed
  • Assisting with EVS cleaning duties when needed
  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment at all times while observing safe practices, infection control measures, customer service standards, and departmental policies.
