About The Position
This role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining hospital floors, ensuring they are kept in good condition according to established policies and procedures. The EVS Floor Tech will focus on preventing build-up in floors and corners, thoroughly removing excess finish or shampoo from surrounding areas, and following procedures for stripping and refinishing floors using correct chemicals. The position also requires staying updated on new floor care techniques and properly re-locating furniture after floor maintenance is complete.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (Equivalent) - Preferred but Not Required.
- None Required
- One year experience in hospitality/food services is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and maintains hospital floors.
- Maintains floors and carpets in good condition in accordance with established policies/procedures.
- Ensures floors, corners and baseboards remain free of build-up.
- Thoroughly removes excess finish/shampoo from wall, baseboards, equipment and furniture.
- Follows established procedures for stripping, refinishes floors.
- Uses correct procedure and chemicals for stripping floors.
- Stays abreast of new techniques on floor care.
- Properly re-locates furniture after completion of floor.
- Cleans equipment and work areas at the end of assigned shift.
- Properly stores equipment after use.
- Routinely checks equipment for safety/ operating compliance and reports all defective equipment to Management.
