About The Position

Maintains a clean, attractive, and safe environment in assigned areas by performing cleaning, transport, equipment handling, room setup, trash removal, and linen handling duties. Performs general cleaning tasks in patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other facility areas. Distributes supplies to departments and maintains stock levels. Builds confidence and cooperation with peers and supervisors through effective communication and competent performance. Follows applicable regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure sanitization and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment, including proper cleaning procedures and use of various equipment.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based data and instructions.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
• Ability to operate basic environmental services equipment, including mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an environment with interruptions.
• Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting from established solutions.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members.
• For the Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center department: valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned facility areas.
• Handle transport, equipment, room setup, trash removal, and linen duties.
• Distribute supplies to departments and maintain stock levels.
• Follow local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures related to sanitization and safety.
• Prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks independently and as part of a team.
• Communicate and collaborate with peers, supervisors, patients, and other hospital personnel.
