About The Position

The EVS Aide performs cleaning functions in assigned areas to help maintain the hospital in an aseptic condition. Employees are expected to understand and share the YNHHS Vision, support its Mission, and embody its Values of integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion. The role follows hospital and department procedures and safety standards, and requires communication and cooperation within and outside the department. The aide must demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide age-appropriate care for patients served in the assigned unit, including understanding growth and development across the lifespan and identifying patients’ age-specific needs according to applicable policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to follow oral instructions.
• One month of experience is stated under Special Skills.
• Must be able to perform the physical activities described, including standing and walking most of the day; climbing stairs; turning, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and reaching; pushing and pulling; handling cleaning equipment and supplies; and lifting and carrying equipment and linen weighing up to 20 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
