About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the EVS Aide performs a variety of assigned cleaning duties. Employees are expected to role model Brown University Health’s values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence in interactions with patients, customers, and colleagues. The role also requires adherence to the organization’s Corporate Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, policies, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.
Up to one month of experience.

Responsibilities

Apply the organization’s values of respect, honesty, fairness, and excellence while supporting its health services.
Perform cleaning duties such as dusting mirrors and glass, emptying trash containers, shining brass, stripping and refinishing floors, and cleaning screens, radiators, drinking fountains, and telephones.
Refill towel and toilet dispensers as needed.
Keep stairs and stairwells dusted and free of debris.
Move furniture, beds, and supplies as required.
Pick up and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
Wash assigned floors, including corridors, bathrooms, shower rooms, offices, lounges, bedrooms, and sick rooms.
Sweep and dust the gym floor as required.
Spray and buff floors as required.
Clean wash tubs, sinks, and toilets.
Check for fire hazards and immediately report problems, difficulties, or unusual circumstances to supervision.
Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas in neat and orderly condition.
Follow hospital housekeeping, safety, and security policies, rules, and regulations.
Perform other related duties as required.
