About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the EVS Aide performs assigned cleaning duties. Brown University Health employees are expected to model the organization’s values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence in their everyday actions with patients, customers, and one another. The position requires the ability to follow written and oral instructions in English and up to one month of experience. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with every third weekend and holiday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position is located at Bradley Hospital in East Providence, Rhode Island. Driving is not required.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.
Up to one month of experience.

Responsibilities

Apply the organization’s corporate values and act in accordance with the Brown University Health Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
Dust mirrors and glass; empty trash containers; shine brass; strip old floor wax and renew floor finishes; and clean screens, radiators, drinking fountains, and telephones.
Refill towel and toilet dispensers as needed.
Keep stairs and stairwells dusted and free of debris.
Move furniture, beds, and supplies as required.
Pick up and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
Wash assigned floors, including corridors, bathroom and toilet areas, shower rooms, offices, lounges, bedrooms, and sick rooms.
Sweep and dust the gym floor as required.
Spray and buff floors as required.
Clean wash tubs, sinks, and toilets.
Check for fire hazards and immediately report problems, difficulties, or unusual circumstances to a supervisor.
Keep equipment, supplies, and work areas neat and orderly.
Observe hospital policies, rules, and regulations, including housekeeping, safety, and security requirements.
Perform other related duties as required.
