About The Position

This executive position develops and executes a strategic retail growth plan aligned with the company’s growth objectives and culture, while building a scalable, sustainable retail channel. This role drives national retail growth through the retention and recruitment of high-performing retail branches, branch managers, and licensed mortgage originators. The ideal candidate is a proven mortgage industry leader with a strong national network, a consultative approach, and a track record of attracting top production talent.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years of experience in the mortgage industry, with a strong emphasis on retail production growth.
Proven success recruiting retail branches, branch managers, and/or high-producing originators at a regional or national level.
Deep understanding of mortgage operations, compliance, secondary markets, and compensation structures.
Established national network of mortgage professionals.
Strong executive presence with the ability to build relationships, as well as influence, and negotiate across organizational boundaries.
Strategic thinker with a growth mindset
High emotional intelligence and consultative sales approach
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong negotiation and closing skills
Ability to travel and work independently in a remote environment

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with an independent mortgage bank or non-depository lender.
Experience scaling a retail platform nationally or across multiple regions.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a national growth strategy focused on retail branch expansion and individual originator recruitment, aligning efforts with company production goals and geographic priorities.
Provide ongoing support to branches in terms of growth, strategy, marketing, and profitability.
Mentor and advise developing branches with best practices for future success in regards to staffing, training, processes, P&L management, and marketing.
Advise the executive team on current mortgage markets, competitive positioning, and underutilized lines of business to expand marketability.
Provide regular reporting on performance metrics and forecasts to executive leadership.
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective recruits, industry leaders, and referral networks.
Partner with executive leadership, operations, and other departments to ensure a smooth onboarding and transition process.
Provide insight and feedback from the field to continuously improve the company’s recruiting and retention strategies.
