About The Position

The Evisceration Technician will be fluent in all evisceration production work on a rotation basis. This role performs all positions on the line in evisceration and participates as a member of the Team. The technician will participate in the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, coordinating work to ensure best practices with all team members. They will attend appropriate team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes. The technician accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways to achieve synergy within the larger organization. The role requires familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and understanding the responsibility to maintain this familiarity and the position's role in supporting these systems, including considering the impact of individual actions and communicating concerns and improvement ideas. Requirements

  • Be able to efficiently work in a plant environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility.
  • Light to moderate physical effort required.
  • Will use waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s) and other protective equipment as needed or required.
  • May be required to have basic math skills and knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, depending on the position on the line.

Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
