The Evisceration Technician is responsible for being fluent in all evisceration production work on a rotation basis. This role performs all positions on the line in evisceration and participates as a member of the Team. The technician will participate in the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, coordinating work to ensure best practices with all team members. They will attend appropriate team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes. The technician accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues. They will actively look for ways to reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization. The role requires familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and understanding the responsibility to maintain this familiarity and the position's role in supporting these systems, including considering the impact of individual actions and communicating concerns and improvement ideas. The role requires the ability to efficiently work in a plant environment, regularly stand, reach, and move about the facility, with light to moderate physical effort. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s), and other protective equipment will be used as needed or required.
