About The Position

This position requires fluency in all evisceration production work on a rotation basis. The role involves performing all positions on the evisceration line and participating as an active member of the team. Team members are expected to contribute to the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, coordinating work to ensure best practices. This includes attending team meetings, fostering cohesiveness, accepting responsibility to identify and resolve issues, and reinforcing actions needed to achieve synergy within the organization. Familiarity with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) is expected, along with understanding the responsibility to maintain this familiarity and the position's role in supporting these systems. This includes considering the impact of individual actions and communicating concerns or improvement ideas. The role also involves performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives. The position requires the ability to work efficiently in a plant environment, regularly standing, reaching, and moving about the facility, with light to moderate physical effort. Use of waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair nets, and other protective equipment is required.

Requirements

  • Preferred experience working around machinery.
  • To working knowledge of a processing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all positions on the line in evisceration.
  • Participates as a member of the Team, contributing to the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
  • Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members.
  • Attends appropriate team meetings.
  • Fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes).
  • Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
  • Actively looks for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
  • Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN).
  • Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
  • Considers the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
