About The Position

Amentum is currently seeking an Evidence Custodian/Casefile Manager based in Forest Park, GA. This position will help support exploitation missions both CONUS (Continental United States) and OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) via deployment. The role involves monitoring forensic laboratory cases, interacting with various divisions, and maintaining surveillance of workload and programs. The successful candidate will complete daily tasks with minimal supervision, advise leadership on unusual situations, and recommend courses of action. Responsibilities include monitoring laboratory workload, collecting customer service data, managing the evidence processing operation, and ensuring adherence to all Army, Federal, and local regulations for evidence handling. This role also acts as quality control for forensic casework, assists in policy development, and serves as a liaison with Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Justice (DOJ), and other agencies on forensic/biometric requirements. Collaboration with DOD, law enforcement, deployed laboratories, and Forensic Exploitation Department (FXD) management is key for standardization and efficiency.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience and an AS (Associate of Science), AA (Associate of Arts), or 2 years of Tech School.
  • In lieu of degree, you must have: A High School Diploma or equivalent with 15 years of experience; or Military experience as an E4 and above.
  • Experience in writing technical reports, justification of technical recommendations and presenting briefs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior members of DoD organizations.
  • Ability to safeguard confidential information.
  • Ability to log, record, and archive working files.
  • Ability to create correspondence, prepare reports, arrange meetings, and support travel arrangements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to use common office equipment (e.g., facsimile (fax) machines, copiers, projectors, and PC printers).
  • Ability to utilize web-based applications to enter and extract data to report and track case files.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. (Please note: US citizenship is required to obtain a US security clearance).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active US Passport.
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Ability to complete and pass a medical assessment in accordance with customer requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • An active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Previous experience supporting the Forensic Exploitation Department (FXD).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor forensic laboratory cases received.
  • Interact closely with all divisions, encompassing the work of scientific professionals and administrative employees.
  • Maintain surveillance of workload and programs in progress throughout the laboratory.
  • Complete daily tasks with little to no supervision while keeping the lead advised of unusual situations and potential problem areas.
  • Recommend courses of action and/or conclusive actions, when needed.
  • Monitor laboratory workload.
  • Collect and maintain data related to customer service quality including productivity, timeliness, and level of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage laboratory evidence processing operation and facility.
  • Ensure all evidence submitted to the laboratory is handled in accordance with all Army, Federal, and local regulations.
  • Monitor adherence to evidence handling procedures; ensures 100% accountability of evidence received and ensures submitting agencies are kept well-informed of case status and given prompt and accurate responses to inquiries and requests.
  • Act as quality control for all forensic casework performed to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and organizational standards.
  • Assist with the development of policies, plans and procedures that impact the lab's overall operational function.
  • Identifies needs and requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison with Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Justice (DOJ) and other agencies and organizations on matters relating to forensic/biometric requirements in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with DOD, law enforcement agencies, deployed laboratories, and the Forensic Exploitation Department (FXD) management regarding standardization to enhance the efficiencies of the laboratories.
